Greg Clark
Executive Chair at The University of Warwick's Innovation District
The Rt Hon Greg Clark is Executive Chair of the University of Warwick’s Innovation District and Chair of WMG - the Warwick Manufacturing Group. Greg served for 19 years as a Member of Parliament, before stepping down in 2024. He was a senior minister for nearly 10 years, including serving in the UK Cabinet as Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Minister for Science and Universities, and previously as Minister for Cities and Financial Secretary to the Treasury. In the last Parliament Greg was elected by the whole House of Commons to serve as Chair of the cross-party Science, Innovation and Technology Select Committee. As a Cabinet Minister Greg was responsible for the development of the UK Industrial Strategy, for the City and Devolution Deals which have established Mayoral Combined Authorities covering half of the population of England, and for proposing and enacting the UK’s commitment to Net Zero emissions by 2050. Greg has been appointed by the current Government to be a member of the Industrial Strategy Advisory Council, which contributes to the development and long-term delivery of HM Government’s industrial strategy. Greg is Chair of the Japan Society, the leading independent body in the United Kingdom dedicated to the enhancement of the British-Japanese relationship. Greg is also Chair the Society of Chemical Industry, and is a Trustee of the Social Market Foundation, a cross-party think tank. Born in Middlesbrough, Greg was educated at St Peter’s Comprehensive School and then read economics at Cambridge University before earning his PhD from the London School of Economics. Before entering Parliament, Greg worked for the Boston Consulting Group and as Controller, Commercial Policy at the BBC.

Professor Emma Flynn
Provost at University of Warwick
Professor Emma Flynn is Provost at the University of Warwick where she supports the Vice-Chancellor in the academic leadership of the University. A key aspect of her role is leading the development and delivery of the University’s academic strategy, ensuring that Warwick remains competitive and relevant within HE and beyond. She is responsible for the efficient and effective use of academic resources, including departmental resources, capital planning and space management, and information resources. Emma joined Warwick in August 2023 leaving Queen’s University Belfast, where she was the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Enterprise. Emma did her undergraduate degree at Southampton University, and her PhD in the ESRC Centre for Research in Development, Instruction and Training at the University of Nottingham. After a lectureship at the University of St Andrews, Emma joined Durham University where she took on a variety of leadership roles ultimately ending up as Deputy Provost. Emma is a psychologist whose research investigates the production and transmission of innovation. She has extensive international collaborative links with biologists, philosophers, computer scientists and statisticians. Through her leadership roles Emma has worked closely with local and national bodies to support the development and utilisation of world-leading research to have significant disciplinary, societal, environmental and economic impact. She has also been a member of working groups aimed at improving international partnerships, global talent attraction and retention, and the role of place in innovation strategies. Within the university sector she has overseen international recruitment campaigns, established integrated planning and strategy structures, and led culture change agendas.

James Scott
Group Director of Strategy & Planning at Urban & Civic plc
James is the Group Director of Strategy and Planning and a founder member of master developer Urban&Civic. Prior to Urban&Civic, James specialised in planning and environmental law at Dechert LLP and was part of the senior executive team of Lend Lease Europe. Having previously served as a non-executive director of East Thames housing association and sat on the Development Committee of L&Q, James is also a senior advisor to Dorrington PLC and a non-executive of Natural England.

Natalie Dowsett
Founder & COO at OX Delivers
Natalie is founder and COO of OX Delivers. A business focused on tackling the lack of access to motorised transport across the Global South with its purpose-built electric truck and digital platform. Following several years at a large automotive manufacturer, where Natalie worked across vehicle design, product strategy and communications, Natalie co-founded OX Delivers in 2020. The team has grown to over 40 people and last year signed a deal with OX Delivers first customer for over 2500 trucks. Natalie has also supported a local young persons charity as a trustee and is a winner of an Autocar Great Women 2025 award.
